Here, we have a filling breakfast and begin the journey through the dense forests to Tonglu (10,130 feet), which lies 6km from Dhotrey. Tonglu provides the best views of the trek. On a clear day, you can see two of the three highest peaks in the world (Mount Everest and Kanchenjunga). Bring your camera, because you might never get such dramatic mountain views like this again!
Descend through a pleasant trail, teeming with herbs and small plants, until Tumling (9,600 feet), about 2km away. Again, get stunning views of the majestic Kanchenjunga peak. From here, the trail guides us downhill through Meghma and Lamhaydhura villages. In Tumling, we have a hearty traditional local meal, packed with energy for the rest of the day.

We had a great experience with Ashmita Trek & Tours. Everything from booking the trek with Subash who provided gear in case of rain (which it did) to Tensing Tamang, our guide who was really helpful & knowledgeable, was fantastic. We were plied with ample meals, snacks and of course tea! Even the poor weather which we experienced didn't dampen our day.

“Cycle Hiking !!”
I and Subash(Ashmita Trek Owner) went for cycle hiking to nearby places in Darjeeling few days earlier. It was an amazing experience altogether and a must do activity for an adventure loving person. Subash is an amazing person and he dedicated his entire day to give me an enthralling experience. Thank you Subash :D

“Amazing Trip and Guide, - Always Choose Ashmita in Darjeeling”
Subash organized a day trek for 9 of us up to Tonglu point to see Kanchenjunga and Mt. Everest. Subash and the other guides could not have been more friendly and engaging. On the trek, we not only had an incredible sense of adventure, but we learned a lot about the culture, food, and mountain customs in Darjeeling and nearby areas of Nepal. We could not have been more satisfied with the quality of the trek. After seeing the amazing sights, Subash recommended delicious restaurants and showed us some of the best tea in Darjeeling. Ashmita Trek and Tours even provided us with easy transportation to and from Bagdogra airport and recommendations for future treks in the Nepali side of the Himalayas. I will definitely be in contact with Ashmita next time I am in this area of the world.
