Food / Meals during the trek
Healthy, nutritious meals are provided on all trekking routes. At each teahouse, you are offered a variety of meals. Breakfast options typically include cereal, porridge, oatmeal, or eggs. You can order toast with jam, chapati with honey, etc. For lunch and dinner, you will eat some variation of pasta, potatoes, soup, and of course, dal bhat. Most trekkers opt for dal bhat (rice, lentil soup, and vegetable curry), as you can get a second or third serving for no extra cost. On days that you cross a high pass, we pack a delicious, filling lunch to eat on the way. Also, there are typically some desserts offered at the teahouses. We assure you that while you are on the trail, you will have plenty of options for fresh, nutritious, and tasty food.
