Best Trekking Seasons in the Himalaya

Autumn Season ( Sep - Nov ) < Best Season >

This is the best time to Trek in Himalayas region and pick tourist season. The weather is pleasant with clear blue sky. one can truly enjoy the scenic view of natural glamour during this season.the possibilities of natural disasters diminish, making it a safe season to trek. This is also the season to celebrate some of the local cultural festivals of Darjeeling Sikkim and Nepal like Dashain and Diwali. 

Spring Season ( Mar - May )  < Good Season > 

The temperature is mildly warm in Himalaya region and with plenty of opportunities to enjoy the Himalayas range It is also the best season for blooming flowers like varieties of Rhododendron and magnolia can be seen blossoming decorating the entire region. the temperatures fall between 11-19 C° during the day and 2-10 C° at night.

Winter Season ( Dec - Feb ) 

During the winter season in Himalaya region, the weather is cold and the sky is clear with occasional snowfall in the higher elevations above 2500miters. In winter, the Himalayan region freezes over and the snow falls. Trekking can be challenging in the higher altitudes above 3000miter because the trail can be covered with snow. This season is also available for those who have keen interest to enjoy the Low Altitude Trekking. The temperature of Himalayan region will be up to -18 degree Celsius, hilly regions 0 to 5 degree Celsius whereas in plain regions 15 to 18 degree Celsius.

Summer Season < Monsoon > ( June - August ) 

In summer, season mustly in the mornings are cloudy with rain in the afternoons and evenings. Trekking is very uncomfortable because the trekking trial becomes muddy, wet, and leech-infested. You risk injury in the wet terrain. Furthermore, there is higher chance of natural disasters; mainly landslides in the hilly regions. the temperature ranges from Monsoon temperatures are around 15-22 C° during the day and 7 to -1 C° at night.
