The drive through the pine forest on the Darjeeling - Mirik Road, especially after Ghum was wonderful. We took a side road from Sukhia to reach Maneybhanjan. The road was bumpy but the pine forests made us forget all our troubles. The tour from Chitrey to Tonglu and to Tumling was done in a Landrover. It was wonderful. Ashmita Trek and Tours did everything possible to make our trip memorable. Subash personally accompanied us, and he is the Best guide you can have in this part. The views of the snow-capped mountains from Tonglu and the warm food at Neela Didi's Shikhar Lodge at Tumling are unforgettable.

I would like to convey our deepest appreciation to Mr Subash Tamang and our guide Binod for their wonderful support and guidance in planning and executing our trip to Lepchajagat and Tumling. I was very much impressed with the care ensured to a 75 years old person (myself) and 70 years old lady (my wife) . My wife was suffering from knee problem bur Binod ensured all care and attention but for which she could not have completed the trip. Also I was deeply impressed with Mr Tamang's advise not to go to Sandakfu if we have any back problem - since the last 10 KM or so is very very bumpy. Most of the tour operators are mostly interested in the pkg cost and not likely to give such advise. To sum up - I can recommebd Asmita Tek and Tours for any trip .

    Ashok, India - December 04, 2017

    About the travels :
A very good travels where they welcomed us warmly, explained us our package. They equipped us with everything whichever is required before the trip started. They gave good advices before the trip started. Eventhough we travelled in 3 vehicles in a chain, they had good communication with each other. We were not dropped anywhere to wait for the other. We were given in the next driver's hand before the earlier driver left. The trip was totally well organized.
    About the guide :
The guide(Dipu Lepcha) arranged from the travels was so flexible and comfortable with us. He explained every places on our trip. He explained all the risks and perks at every place. He was so good at hospitality. Also he was so patient with my parents. His communication and language was also good and comfortable as we are Tamizh people. He even helped us with our personal needs after the trip which he don't even need to do.
About the Singalila Jeep Driver :
It may sound surprising or lame but believe me. Only the people who has gone through the Singalila forest will know this. There are no roads at all literally. But our driver (Tashir Tamong) made it so safe and great. He is the most skillful driver I have ever seen. He drived through all the cliffs and ridges without any fear. He was also so much humorous and patient and gentle. Totally we enjoyed to our best in our 4 day jeep safari with Ashmita Treks and Tours. At first we thought the package was overpriced. But at the end of the trip, we justified it was worth the price.

    Lilian P, Australia - April 26, 2016

As an older person who is not at all used to high altitudes, the thought of trekking caused me some concern, but I did want to see the mountains, especially Kanchenjunga so my companions and I decided on a 3 day jeep trek on the Singalila Ridge with Ashmita. Our driver skillfuly negotiated the rough road with ease in his 1954 Land Rover and Pemba was a brilliant guide, very attentive and informative. We were extremely lucky to have a beautiful clear morning at Sandakphu and on the road to Phalut we had breath-taking views of the Sleeping Buddha. Subash also arranged transport for us through Sikkim in a comfortable car with a very professional and knowledgeable driver, Neema. We were very well looked after throughout and felt complete confidence in the team.

Subash and the Ashmita team accommodated me on a last minute trip to Darjeeling and up to Sandakphu. With limited time available (alas...) I was worried that this trip wouldn't be a possibility. But the team was super helpful and ultimately provided a great experience.

Highly recommend - only regret is I wasn't able to spend more time in this beautiful area!
