Arrivel at Bagdogra Airport / NJP Train station trasport to Yksoom base camp of your trek to Dzongri overnight at Home stay.

We walk gently uphill, following the Rathong River gorge, through dense mixed jungle with magnolia, rhododendron, ferns and several varieties of orchids, brightly colored birds, and the occasional monkey. After an hour or so we cross the Paha Khola bridge, (1,733m./5,685ft.). There is a swimming spot by a waterfall (for those who dare!) after two hours, and we can stop for lunch by a bridge over stream. Passing by sweet smelling viburnum we cross the Prek Chu River and then ascend steeply for two or three hours to arrive at Bakhim. A little higher up is the picturesque Tibetan refugee settlement of Tshoka where we set up camp. This is a long trekking day and you should expect to be pretty tired by the time you arrive at the camp.

A fairly steep climb above Tshoka takes you into beautiful rhododendron forests, and you continue along a well-defined uphill path to Phedang. Today we will cover a shorter distance in view of the climb to rarefied air.

        Overnight camping

Another short day's walking today as we are now treading above the 4,000-meter mark. We will be setting up camp by lunchtime and suggest that you spend a relaxed afternoon acclimatizing. A brief climb beyond brings you to a meadow where we can pitch our tents in a campsite with views of Koktang, Rathong, Kabru, Khangchendzonga, Simvo and Pandim. As usual on trek the choice of campsite depends on many variables, one of the most important is the close supply of water.

Early risers can get up before dawn to climb to a vantage point on a ridge above the campsite to watch the sunrise on Khangchendzonga, Kabru, Pandim, Rathong, and many other peaks of the Khangchendzonga range. Full day excursion to Laxmi Pokhari. The trial first goes through rhododendron bushes and pasture land for about an hour to Chamaray. From here it is a gradual ascent to Laxmi Pokhari, a big lake cupped in a deep crater. Here you will get good view of Khangchendzonga range, Pandim, Narsing, Kabur, Kabur dome, Koktang etc. If you reach Laxmi Pokhari early and feeling physically fit, an excursion towards Kabur rock will be a rewarding experience. Back to Dzongri.

Wake up to the beauty of mountain peaks by climbing to Dzongri top from where one can get a panaromic view of Kabru (7,353m), Ratong (6,678 m), Kanchenjanga (8,534 m), Koktang (6,147 m), Pandim (6,691m), Narsingh (5,825m). Trek through the Singalila Ridge till you reach Tsokha; overnight stay in Camping.

Tshoka to Yuksam -5 to 6 hours Today you descend to the Prek Chu following the route you took up on the first day, and then contour gradually downwards to reach the village of Yuksam our starting point. Enjoy an evening soiree and then bid farewell to the porters and trekking staff; overnight stay at the designated hotel.

morning after breakfast drive to Pemayangtse peeling on the way visit Khechoperi Lake Drive 24 Kms ( 01.30 hrs) to the holy Khechepheri Lake . Khecheopalri Lake, originally known as Kha-Chot-Palri (meaning the heaven of Padmasambhava), is a sacred Lake for both Buddhists and Hindus, which is believed to be a wish fulfilling lake, and a height of about 6,000ft , According to Buddhist belief the lake is the emanation of goddess Tara blessed by Guru Rempoche. One should go to the lake and it is believed that whatever wish you pray silently it will get fulfilled. Later continue the journey for another 30 Kms ( 1.30 hrs) to reach Pelling and overnight.

After early your breakfast transfer to Bagdogra Airport or NJP Train station onward your destination.

My friend and I decided to book a last minute Trip to India to do Kanckanzonza goechala trek base Camp in 2019. and turned out to be a great decision because we had an absolutely amazing experience! From the very beginning we had lots of questions about the india trip and itinerary and Subash Tamang the owner was always quick with answers so we felt comfortable with everything.

The team from Ashmita Trek and Tours Company has done a marvellous job to ensure that my safety, logistics and lodging was organised properly during our Trek.

The guides were helpful, friendly and were always on the lookout for my well-being which I deeply appreciate.
All in all we had a wonderful time and I could honestly recommend these guys to anyone interested in Sikkim Trek. Only hope I come back in the near future and do another trek!

We are a group of friends who had the opportunity of trek to Dzongri - Goechala in Sikkim. Mr. Sangay was our guide. We were given a warm welcome with garlands after our arrival at the airport. We are accommodated at good hotel in Yuskom. Judging the groups capabilities Sange proposed slight changes to the program, which proved to be good in the end. He and his team took good care of us and had a good overview of the well being of each member of our group. The cook of the group made every effort to provide a good variety of food over the days. Sangay was encouraging every member of the group and made sure that all of us stepped on the finish line. He organised a celebration after returning to Goechala. Composed, coupled with knowledge and experience, Mr. Sangay is a good recommendation as a guide.

We took a 9-day trek to sikkim Dzongri goecha La pass with Ashmita and we were incredibly happy to do so. The trek was wonderful and the tour guide Sangay was the most responsible, helpful and caring person we could have ever imagined. Thanks to Sangay's knowledge of mountains and experience we enjoyed an awesome view of the Himalayan ridge on Dzongri Top despite two days of rainy weather. As our guide suggested "a trek is a team work" and therefore we thank to Sangay, the cook, the helper and the horseman who did a great job in taking care of us.

                      Jennie - August 12, 2015

My partner and I (in our early thirties) wanted to go trekking from Sikkim. We both have travelled a fair amount and reasonably fit and wanted to choose a company that would enable us to be flexible, have an adventure and not to be too much of a package ramble. We spent quite a while researching online and came across these guys. We were able to pick the distance (and with guidance our ideal route) and the dates and had an amazing 8 days trekking.

Mr Keshee (Frank) was a great, ridiculous guide who entertained and informed us along the way. The food that was organised for us along the trek was tasty and hearty and always very welcome after a long day walking. We were able to borrow a tent and 4 season sleeping bags which was really handy - that we didn't need to bring our own.

We met a few other trekkers along the way and I think Ashmita seemed like the most professional and most experienced of the trek guides out there. It's worth paying a bit more money to be in safe hands.

Furthermore would recommend taking a slow ascent (and perhaps slower than they advised), as we did struggle after ascending to 4200m. However Keshee was very receptive to our concerns.

The guest house they recommend staying in in Yuksom is great too. Would recommend them thoroughly.
