We were planning to do this for a very long time. But let me tell you in advance, its not too easy but its definitely worth the pain. Note: All of us were beginners. We started off from Darjeeling around 9:30 in the morning. The journey to Ghum was pretty steep and drained out most of our energy. From there we entered the Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary. The journey was absolutely magical with the entire forest covered in mist and fog. The initial part of it was quite comfortable but the challenge was yet to come when we had to ascend again to reach the topmost part. We decided not to go to Chatakpur since it was already late. But the downhill ride to Jorebunglow was really challenging as the path was muddy and filled with rocks. During the entire journey there were a number of times when we thought that we won't be able to complete it but that's when we got a hell lot of motivation from our guide-Kunzang Sangay Bhutia! He was absolutely amazing, encouraging and super fit at his 40s!!
The journey was well organised by Ashmita Trek and Tours although we felt that there should have been a provision for taking enough rest and food in between at some place since it was really tiring.
A word of advice: Do carry snacks bar, bananas, energy drink and water. And make sure you have Sangay with you to make your task a lot easier.

Despite the rain and cloud we had a great day's hike with Subash. The area is stunning we can only imagine what it is like when the clouds clear! We learnt a lot from Subash about area and the people of the region. His English is excellent and above all he was a lot of fun, he made us laugh a lot! The food we had for breakfast and lunch on the hike was some of the best we had in Darjeeling. Thanks Subash!

Subash helps you to organize a varied and fun trip so you can enjoy the Himalaya even if you don't have many days for your visit.
We did a very simple tour with cycling and hiking, people with no previous experience could easily do the same tour as we did.

Besides from the active parts Subash also took us to a museeum, a buddist temple while a ceremony was going on, got us to taste local beer in a cottage in Nepal (with an open fire sparkeling in the background)
