  • Excellent Singalila ridge trek

    Stephen, Australia - April 28, 2015

Subash the Owner of Ashmita trek and tours helped organise our five day Darjeeling/Singalila trek in April. Our guide was great - very knowledgable and helpful. We stayed at homestays each night and ate meals at small shops/huts along the way. The views on this trek are spectacular and diverse - from rolling hills to ancient rainforest, mountain tops etc. We glimpsed Everest at dawn which was unforgettable.A note to people thinking of doing this trek - it is not ... continue reading

  • Highly recommended, outstanding trek

Jo Clarke, United Kingdom - April 24, 2015

From the moment I contacted Subash by email all the way from England, he was engaged, helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Our guide, GD, was wonderful - kind, thoughtful, well paced, knowledgeable, capable and trustworthy and we all felt happy and safe under his guidance. Our 4 day Sandakphu Trek covered wonderful, varied scenery, not too taxing on the legs and offered, of course, the unforgetable sights of Everest and the other Himalayan mountains. Accommodation and food ... continue reading

  • Unforgettable Trek in Darjeeling !

    PKVG, Spain - April 20, 2015

We had an amasing 6 days on the Darjeeling - Sadakphu Trek. My father (70 years old) and myself (39) were very impressed with Subash Tamang of owner (Ashmita Trek and Tours ) and particularly with our Guide Binod. He exceeded our expectations and really looked after us. The first day was tougher than we expected but as we got used to the altitude we improved. We didn´t actually see the full Everest view until the 4th day making it ... continue reading

  • A symbol of trust and expertise

Arinov and family, India - April 18, 2015

I contacted Subhash on phone and via mail. We booked a sight seeing tour in Darjeeling and a trip to Kalimpong and Delo and a drop to NJP via Mirik. He is a great guy, always with a smile. We were not into trekking, hence we only were interested in day tours. The main point to note is that the region is accessible vide treacherous hilly roads and you need good drivers. He provided us with Tenzing on first 2 ... continue reading

  • Great experience! Fun and adventurous!

    Beecoy, United Kingdom - March 27, 2015

We did the Sandakphu trail and loved it. Our guide was great and everything was planned out. The homestays we stayed at were wonderful people and the accommodations were very clean. Definitely a cultural experience. I want to use this tour company again in the future. They are also very accommodating. We had planned for a five day trek but the day before my friend had an allergic reaction and Subash worked out a 3 day trail we could do and ... continue reading

  • The only tour company worth using

    Tim R, United Kingdom - March 22, 2015

ime was limited in Darjeeling, but Subash and his staff were able to put together a bespoke itinerary that met all of our requirements. The trek itself was amazing, as was the level of attention to detail that Pemba and his colleagues displayed at all times on the trek.A couple of trekkers that we met along the way who were using alternative companies actually commented to us how knowledgeable and helpful Pemba was in comparison to their own guides. The ... continue reading

  • Fantastic Day Trek!

    Zosogt, United States - March 19, 2015

We were lucky enough to enjoy a one day trek to Tonglu - Tumling with Subash (owner of Ashmita) as our guide (3 of us in the group). We were picked up from our hotel at 5:30am and after a 90 minute drive, we enjoyed a traditional Nepali breakfast in a small village. The hike itself was fantastic. After a fairly strenuous uphill climb, we walked through varying scenery both in India and Nepal. We weren't able to see any ... continue reading

  • Great trek with some unexpected extremes

    aroundtheworldnow89, Germany - March 06, 2015

Both Subash, the owner of the agency, as well as Pemba, our guide, were extremely nice and friendly people. All in all our trek was great even though it was a bit more extreme than expected. I guess we had very bad luck with the weather as when we woke up in Sandakphu we got to see 15cm of snow instead of a breathtaking view of the Himalaya. Subsequently the descent was very challenging and also quite dangerous as it got ... continue reading
