A fun-filled camping experience at a campsite that is situated on a lush green hilltop that offers spectacular views of mountains kanchenjunga and Everest range that are absolutely spectacular within a short span of two days Camping at Tonglu.

Tonglu is a small settlement located on Singalila ridge and between Manebhanjan and Sandakphu. Darjeeling district in the state of West Bengal in India near the India - Nepal .border.

This camping experience in Tonglu offers a guided trek to the alpine meadows of Gorson Bugyal which are perched at an of 3,070 Mt 10,072 ft. You can also explore the culture and tradition of the local people.If the weather permits then one can witness the landscapes of two different countries (India and Nepal) from the border, where at one side we see a beautiful forest area and at the other side there are village settlements.

In the morning at 9am our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Darjeeling to our office location. Then you will drive down to a small village called Dhotrey via Manebhanjyang. Dhotrey is located at an altitude of 8,500ft. It takes about 2.5 hours to reach Dhotrey from Darjeeling by car. Your trek will start from here through a deep forest and beautiful rhododendron trees welcome you to enter into next place called Tonglu. The Distance from Dhotrey to Tonglu is 6 kms. Tonglu is located at an altitude of 10,130ft. On a clear day, you get magnificent views of Kanchenjunga snow peaks from Tonglu. And if the sky is clear blue, you can even see Mt. Everest. After the great views of mountain ranges we again start a short down walk through a trail full of herbs and small plants forward to reach Tumbling, 2kms. This is where you have to stay overnight.

Morning sunrise call to watch the pink, red and finally golden glow of sunlight as it inches its way east to west across the face of the Himalayas which offers the majestic views of the world's four of the tallest mountains. Some of the greatest peaks include the Mt Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Chomolhari, Pandim, Three Sisters, Kumbhakarna etc. Head back down for breakfast and resume to Trek via Tumling Descend through a pleasant trail, teeming with herbs and small plants, until Tumling (9,600 feet), about 2km away. Again, get stunning views of the majestic Kanchenjunga peak. From here, the trail guides us downhill through Meghma and Lamhaydhura villages Our final destination is Chitrey, about 9 km from Tumling. Here, we meet our driver and head back to Darjeeling. Our Camping at Tonglu in Darjeeling a perfect escape from the fast-paced city life and into the quiet, peaceful mountain and alpine landscape.
